Incident Alerts and Advisories (I&A) Service
Dryad Maritime’s Incidents & Advisory (I&A) service supports the development and maintenance of clients’ Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) through the provision of a 24/7/365 stream of reports and advisories on maritime risk related issues.
From initial email ‘alerts’, highlighting new and emerging maritime and onshore threats to vessels and their crews, to ‘advisories’ which develop particular incidents or security issues, our I&A stream provides readers with the intelligence they need to operate safely in the world’s most dangerous waters and ports areas.
Components
The service is divided into three primary streams; two covering the High Risk Areas (HRA) of the Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Guinea, with a third covering Southeast Asia. The reporting comprises two key elements, Incidents (Alerts) and Advisories:
- Incidents or ‘Alerts’ are time-sensitive short reports detailing maritime crime incidents or known threats. With source material coming from both official (open) and Dryad’s (privileged) sources, our Alerts seek to get critical intelligence to our clients in the shortest possible time. In addition to the description of the event, the reports will always include Dryad’s first line analysis and any recommendations to vessels and their crews.
- Advisories contain deeper and more considered analysis that puts our intelligence into a wider context and/or considers the connections, trends and themes that emerge related events or maritime crime issues. These reports, less time-sensitive than Alerts, enrich our clients’ understanding of the threats and enable them to take appropriate actions for further risk reduction based upon the conclusions drawn and recommendations made.
Benefits
Round the clock support
Our 24/7 Operations Room is at the heart of the service, providing a watchful eye across all incoming information, observing the patterns of shipping and reacting to threats as they emerge in the maritime domain. Reports are issued as incidents occur, getting them to our clients in a timely way whatever the time zone or time of day.
Weekly Intelligence Forecasts
The I&A service includes a weekly forecast for our three main areas of reporting (Gulf of Guinea, Indian Ocean and Southeast Asia) providing a summary of activity seen in the preceding week alongside an analysis of what this means for the week ahead. A quick, clear and easy to understand read, these reports are particularly useful for busy CSOs and for anyone who needs to make operational decisions based on the relative levels of risk in these areas.
Clear, concise and evidenced
Provides subscribers with a single source of intelligence that benefits from Dryad’s deep and broad understanding of maritime crime, its perpetrators and the environments in which it takes place. Reports include graphics depicting the areas concerned and are supported by data and statistics that clearly show the evidence behind our analytical judgements.
Value-added Assessments
Our reports don’t just state facts; they add value by building on the factual reporting of open and privileged sources, putting events into context. Dryad’s I&A service goes the extra nautical mile by drawing conclusions and making sound recommendations derived from professional maritime analysis that helps recipients understand the ‘so what’ and appreciate what the intelligence means for them and their operations.
