Before joining Dryad, Paul served in the Royal Navy for 28 years working within the operations environment providing information and support to ships’ command teams.

From his first deployment were he saw action in the Falkland conflict, Paul’s service took him to many locations in the world including Europe as part of the NATO standing force. Other deployments included South East Asia, the Persian Gulf, West Africa and the Caribbean.

In recognition of his experience, Paul’s final employment was at the Royal Navy Maritime Warfare Centre where he co-ordinated the running of the Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) division. In this role, Paul formulated and briefed senior personnel on emerging tactics for the current worldwide maritime threat.
