Darren joined Dryad Maritime in November 2011 after serving over 23 years in the Royal Navy.

Primarily a sonar specialist, Darren specialised in surface and anti-submarine warfare. Undertaking numerous deployments East of the Suez and  participating in multinational and NATO-led task groups as part of  Standing Naval Force Atlantic (SNFL), Darren was involved in carrying out marine interdiction operations, anti-smuggling operations and high value unit escort duties.

During the latter stages of his naval career Darren worked at the Maritime Data Centre, collating information on merchant vessels transiting in and out of the Mediterranean and more recently in the USA where he worked in the Integrated Undersea Surveillance System (IUSS) community.
